Our vision is of sustainable ocean ecosystems that support thriving populations of manta rays and other marine biodiversity, and underpin the welfare of coastal communities. Small-scale fisheries provide important livelihoods and food security for coastal communities. Yet at the same time, many of these fisheries are unregulated and unreported, and use gears that have wide-ranging environmental impacts. Indonesia's Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries estimates that 70% of all sharks and rays landed are bycatch. Through our sustainable fisheries program, we are working to assist small-scale fishers to fish smarter and more responsibly, and to maximise their earnings while minimising unsustainable impacts on manta rays and other non-target species.

    Sustainable Tourism Assistant
Our vision is of sustainable ocean ecosystems that support thriving populations of manta rays and other marine biodiversity, and underpin the welfare of coastal communities. We believe that nature-based tourism holds tremendous potential as a conservation tool, helping to change local attitudes towards wildlife and creating the incentives for conservation. At the same time we recognize that tourism growth also introduces new pressures and impacts on ecosystems. Through our sustainable tourism program, we are working to ensure that the natural value of manta rays and other marine wildlife are maintained. Our approach emphasises evidence-based and participative management to safeguard marine wildlife and the services they provide.
